UIL

 

AHS students competed in the UIL district meet and won the 2024 Overall District Academic Title. In both Feature Writing and Editorial Writing, Maranda House placed 4th, as well as 3rd in Copy Editing, advancing to Regionals. Landry Stoval placed 4th in Headline Writing. The Calculator team placed 1st with Brianna Ackley placing 1st, Alex Peek 2nd, Kristen Burkett 3rd, James DeLong 4th, and Brooklyn Puckett 5th. The Math team placed 1st, with James placing 1st, Brianna 2nd, Maranda 3rd, Kristen 4th, and Katie Baird 5th. The Number Sense team also placed 1st, with Brianna taking 1st, James 3rd, Kristen 4th, and Katie 5th. The Science team also took the gold, with Kristin placing 1st, Brianna 2nd, Katie 3rd, James 4th, Jackson Mahan 5th, and Alex 6th. In Prose, Jaci Moore placed first, while Kendall Jackson placed 1st in Poetry and Madison Klemme took second. Good luck to these students at the upcoming Regional contest.
