CDC Guidance on Reduce Quarantine for COVID-19 Contacts_12_2020

December 18, 2020

Attention Bulldog Family: We hope that everyone has a happy and safe Christmas break. While your students are home please continue to monitor them for any signs or symptoms of COVID-19. If your child is ill we want to encourage you to have them evaluated by their healthcare provider. If your child is ill, has exposure to COVID, or tests positive for COVID the school will still need to be notified. The school will still have to determine possible close contacts at school if symptoms started within 2 days of students being on campus. The school will also have to determine return dates for students if they will not be able to return our first day back on January 5th. Please contact the school via covid@averyisd.net if your child tests positive and symptoms began within 2 days of being on campus. If symptoms/illness/exposure is not within 2 days of being on campus please contact the school on Monday January 4, 2020. This is a staff work day and return dates can be determined at this point.

The CDC and DSHS have released new guidelines for Quarantine post exposure. We will begin using these new guidelines after Christmas break.

Thanks so much!
