Avery Independent School District is proud to unveil its new Mission Statement:

AVERY ISD COMMITS TO ENGAGE IN 21st CENTURY LEARNING WHILE CULTIVATING POSITIVE GROWTH IN SOCIAL, EMOTIONAL, AND BEHAVIORAL ATTITUDES.

Guided by the beliefs statements that were developed during staff development and community meeting, AISD staff is committed to a systemic approach whereby teachers become the active leaders of learners by creating engaging learning experiences that cultivate authentic learning opportunities for students.  The classroom shifts from  " sit and get" to a collaborative environment involving students accessing knowledge, examining and reporting information for summarization, and identifying a real world connection.  AISD students must be problem-solvers and work together as a team as they incorporate 21st century social skills that include cooperation, collaboration, competition, and tolerance.

As a District, we encourage the inclusion of parents, business, and community members as key stakeholders in the success of all students.
