Middle School Computer Lab

Course Description
Middle school computer lab class will be an extension of students' core classes. I will be working closely with the other middle school teachers to develop projects that will extend their reading, English, math, science and social studies lessons through the use of technology, as well as incorporating 21st century skills.
Some of the topics we will cover include Internet safety, Internet literacy and copyright laws. We will use a variety of technology mediums including, but not limited to: desktop computers, digital cameras, video cameras and interactive white boards.
Lesson Plans for the 4th Six Weeks:
5th Grade: Internet safety, keyboarding, study of the Internet, Internet searches, Vocabulary words pertaining to technology, utilize the Internet to study important days
6th Grade: Internet safety, review of keyboarding, study of the Internet, Internet searches, Vocabulary words pertaining to technology, utilize the Internet to study about winter weather, Martin Luther King, Jr. and other important days
7th Grade: Internet safety, review of keyboarding, study of the Internet and the world wide web, Internet searches, Vocabulary words pertaining to technology, utilize the Internet to study about winter weather, Martin Luther King, Jr. and other important days

1st Period: 8:00-8:45--5th Grade
2nd Period: 8:50-9:35--Conference Period
Break: 9:35-9:45
3rd Period: 9:50-10:35--6th Grade

Grading Policy
There will be a minimum of ten (10) grades taken in each six-week period. Of the ten (10) grades taken, two (2) of the grades must be test grades. Daily work will count as 60% of the six weeks average and test grades will count as 40%.
Tutorials
I am available at morning break for tutorials, if needed.
