Class Rules and Information

Agricultural/Science and Technology Rules

Students will…

  •          Respect others at all times.
  •          Take responsibility for their learning.
  •          Come to each class prepared with:

                1.       Class Binder

                2.       College Ruled Notebook Paper

                3.       Writing Utensils

                4.       A Positive Attitude

  •          Conduct themselves in a safe manner at all times.
  •          Remove hats upon entering the classroom.
  •          Turn in assigned homework at the beginning of class on the due date.
  •          Contribute to class discussions and actively participate in each lesson.
  •          Wear required personal protective equipment (including proper clothing) during all shop     


  •          Act in a professional manner at all times.
  •          Be dismissed from class by the instructor (not the bell).
  •          Be in their assigned seats before the tardy bell rings. (Failure to so will result in the student being   

            marked as tardy for that class period.)

  •          Conduct themselves according to this policy during guest speakers, with substitutes and on  

            field trips.

  •          Follow the instructions given by the teacher.
  •          Adhere to the classroom/ laboratory policy at all times.
  •          Follow the rules and regulations set forth by Avery ISD Student Code of Conduct.
  •          Be responsible for school issued books.
  •          Ask before using the restroom or leaving the classroom.


Students will not…

  •          Engage in horseplay with other students.
  •          Bring food (including gum) or beverages to class other than bottled water.
  •          Deface school or other people’s property.
  •          Use vulgar or offensive language.
  •          Use any electronic device other than a calculator.
  •          Congregate near the door before the dismissal bell rings.
  •          Enter the teacher’s office, storage areas, or shop unless authorized to do so by the instructor.
  •          Lie, Cheat, or steal.


Make-up Work:

When absent it is the student responsibility to get their assignments the day they return. Students have three days to get make-up work done and turned in. Tens points will be take deducted off any assignments not turned in on due date. An additional 10 points will be deducted for each day assignment is not turned in, up to four days. If the assignment is still not turned in, you will be given a “ZAP” and will be required to complete the assignment in after school detention with a maximum grade of 65.



I am in my classroom by 7:30am every morning students may come to my classroom during that time and during activity period for tutoring.


Grading Policy:

Your final letter grade for the course will be based on the number of points earned through a variety of learning experiences. These learning experiences will include, but are not limited to daily work, homework assignments, field and laboratory investigations, test and major unit assignments or projects. To receive credit for a course a student must maintain an average of 70 or above.


60% daily                             40% test
