6th six weeks
All levels
Level I will read Pobre Ana by Blaine Ray
Levels II, III and IV will read Viva el Toro
All levels are working towards a benchmark on this initiative.
ESL classes are working on vocabulary skills and vocab relative to other content.
5th six weeks
This period students will work on learning songs that will be performed for them by Justo Lamas from Argentina. A website is utilized to obtain the lyrics and an interactive activity with Kareoke to sing along.

4th six weeks
All levels
Spanish students are using recycled vocabulary along with new vocabulary in the contexts of writing, reading, questioning and discussion. Spanish I, II, III and IV students are advancing to reading tests during the first half of the cycle. The second half will begin a study of .music in preparation for a concert.

3rd six weeks

All levels
Students will work in groups to write story lines that will be considered for class story. Previous vocabulary will be recycled and along with the new structures that are listed below.
A benchmark will emerge from this initiative.

Students will continue to listen and read stories pertaining to the following vocabulary stuctures:

Students are currently working on internalizing the TPR vocab list at 20 words per week.

Students have been writing class stories with the above vocabulary and are preparing to act out the stories.

Spanish students are using recycled vocabulary along with new vocabulary in the contexts of writing, reading, questioning and discussion. Spanish II, III and IV students are advancing to reading tests.
The ESL class continue working on vocab skills and vocabulary relative to content areas.
