Course Description
Spanish at AHS is taught using the TPRS method invented by Blaine Ray. TPRS means Teaching Proficiency through Reading and Storytelling. The method focuses on comprehension of vocabulary rather than on grammatical structures as in traditional language instruction. Reading and storytelling provide a language rich opportunity to easily incorporate all five objectives set by the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills or TEKS while students learn comprehensible and usable language.
